This low cost, innovative soil moisture profiling system continues to be used successfully by international research institutions and the world's farming community. The MicroGopher is a revolutionary, direct reading soil moisture measurement system that enables you to improve crop yield, reduce irrigation costs and eliminate leaching of fertilisers.
The MicroGopher is a single sensor probe that is inserted into a 15mm PVC access tube. The soil moisture data is recorded at 10cm intervals and stored in the memory of a handheld controller. The unit stores 48 profiles from 54 different sites. It has its own internal battery pack and does not require external battery power.
The computer software includes a three-dimensional graph which gives a dynamic display of soil moisture recharge and use by the irrigated crop. It lets you see the total picture of soil moisture changes and movement in the soil. Graphs can be printed in colour and zoomed and scrolled. Summed histographs and histograph slices display the dynamics of water use by the plants and soil moisture recharge from irrigation or rainfall.
